Sancocho Sunday: The hangover cure you didn't know you needed!

Hola, amigos

So, after the epic fiesta we’re about to throw down, nothing says hangover remedy quite like a steaming bowl of Sancocho Antioqueño! And let’s be honest, after the dancing, aguardiente, and enough Colombian music to keep you spinning, we’re pretty sure you’ll need it. This isn't just a meal; it’s an experience, a cure, and a slice of Paisa culture in a bowl.

Imagine this: tender chicken, beef, or pork floating in a hearty, savory broth, big chunks of yuca, potatoes, corn, and plantains... all topped off with fresh cilantro and scallions for that unbeatable aroma.

This sancocho will be lovingly prepared in Caldas, Antioquia, by our dear Bedoya family – the most fun, wild family you’ll ever meet. Laura calls them her second family; they’re the family of her madrina, Ana María, and, naturally, they know how to throw the best parties. Their home also doubles as the headquarters of Somos Cokua (if you haven’t heard of it, then you really don’t know Laura yet), so this place is special in every way. It’s where Laura grew up, where she danced her first vallenato, and where she learned that no hangover should ever go un-treated.

And if you think, you already know Latino parties and Colombia culture, let’s face it – the Sancocho will be 100% Colombian. If you’re already over the music and rumba (very unlikely), you plan to sleep long (more likely) or you will be hungover (very likely) we understand if you skip this.

Let us know in advance if you would like to join so that we can organize the transport from the Click Clack hotel (36 minutes away) and plan ahead.

If we get too many guests interested in our Sancocho Sunday, we might not be able to fit everybody, thus we handle this on a first-come first-serve basis. The return trip by taxi is on you, mi amigo. It’s all part of the adventure.
